Chelsea, the current champion of the Women’s Super League (WSL), has shown interest in the young American soccer player Lily Yohannes for next season. Sources close to the club have confirmed the interest, although no offer has yet been formalized due to the player’s age.

Yohannes, 17, currently plays for Ajax in the Women’s Eredivisie and will turn 18 on June 12. Her contract with the Dutch club expires in 2026.

The midfielder faced Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals last season, when the team was still under the management of coach Emma Hayes.
