Manchester United are considering the possibility of keeping Casemiro beyond this season, but the Brazilian midfielder may have to accept a pay cut if he wants to stay at the club.
Casemiro, whose current contract extends until June 2026, could leave Old Trafford as a free agent in the summer. The club is looking to reduce its wage bill following the departures of important players.
The player, with a lucrative contract since his arrival in 2022, is one of the highest-paid footballers on the team.
To stay at United, Casemiro would have to accept a significant salary reduction.Casemiro ha jugado seis partidos en la Premier League con el Manchester United esta temporada. United are planning a midfield overhaul for next summer, with the expectation of at least one major signing.
Furthermore, the club has pending decisions with Harry Maguire and Tyrell Malacia.
Both players are in the last year of their contracts, although United has the option to extend Malacia’s contract for an additional year.
Malacia hasn’t played this season yet, while Maguire has a one-year extension previously activated.
