Tom Brady Celebrates Birmingham’s Victory Over Wrexham
NFL legend quarterback Tom Brady celebrated Birmingham City’s victory over Wrexham, a team owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, in the English football championship. Brady, a minority shareholder in Birmingham, expressed his satisfaction after the 2-0 victory, commenting that “it’s always more fun to beat your friends”. Birmingham, like Wrexham, is looking to move up the ranks in English football. Both teams were promoted from League One last season, but are currently competing in different positions in the second division. In Sunday’s match, Wrexham failed to get close to the playoff spots, with goals from Carlos Vicente and Christoph Klarer for Birmingham at St Andrew’s stadium. The defeat leaves Phil Parkinson’s team four points behind Hull, who are in seventh place. The top two teams secure direct promotion to the Premier League, while the teams from third to sixth place will compete for an additional spot through the playoffs in May. After the game, Brady shared on his Instagram stories:“Great W. It’s always more fun to beat your friends.”
Brady became a minority shareholder in Birmingham in August 2023, two years after McElhenney and Reynolds acquired Wrexham. The pair have overseen three consecutive promotions, starting their journey with Wrexham outside the Football League.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson stated that his team’s hopes of reaching the playoffs are not over despite the defeat. Meanwhile, Birmingham, now in 15th place in the table, achieved their first victory in five matches, ending a run of three consecutive defeats. Birmingham manager Chris Davies opined that his team could have scored more than two goals. We’ve had a difficult week this week. But we’re not sunk yet. It’s not over yet.

I really enjoyed watching the team today, I thought we were excellent throughout.
