The Argentinian club announced the news on Friday, marking a significant change in the player’s situation.Costa’s visa application was subject to a criminal complaint in Argentina, related to an aggravated robbery in 2018. The player avoided a trial by accepting a suspended sentence in 2023. Previously, U.S. authorities had determined that Costa could not enter the country because he was still serving his sentence. Boca Juniors will debut in the tournament on Monday in Miami, facing the Portuguese team Benfica.“Ayrton Costa has received a special 26-day visa,” a club spokesperson told Reuters.
