Bernardo Silva Takes the Lead at Manchester City: “One of the Greatest Honors”

Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva has expressed his pride after being named captain of Manchester City, calling it “one of the greatest honors” of his sporting career. Coach Pep Guardiola made the decision to designate the captain for the first time, after expressing his dissatisfaction with the team’s leadership in the previous season. Silva, who begins his ninth season with the club, has been chosen to wear the captain’s armband, and has shared his excitement about leading the team.

Silva highlighted the importance of the experience accumulated over the years at the club, both in moments of success and disappointment, and his intention to transmit it to the younger players. Furthermore, he emphasized that leadership in a team does not depend on a single person, but on the commitment of each player to support each other. Silva succeeds Kyle Walker as captain, following the player’s departure. In addition to Silva, the coaching staff has designated Rodri, Rúben Dias, and Erling Haaland as part of the leadership team, and another name is expected to be added before the start of the Premier League season.

I have Rubén, Rodri, Erling, all the lads to help me. Because I will need that help to help the team achieve many things and, hopefully, win titles.
