Barcelona Suspends Japan Tour Due to Contractual Breach
FC Barcelona has made the decision to suspend its participation in the Japanese part of its Asian tour due to a serious breach of contract by the promoter.
The friendly match scheduled for Sunday against Vissel Kobe will not take place. However, the Catalan club is still willing to travel to South Korea, provided certain guarantees are provided before the date.
The LaLiga champions’ calendar includes matches against FC Seoul on July 31 and Daegu FC on August 4 in South Korea.
The club has been forced to suspend our participation in the match scheduled for next Sunday in Japan due to a serious breach of contract by the promoter.
A source close to the situation revealed that the default is related to the payments promised by the organizers for Barça’s participation in the matches.
The club’s statement also indicated that the possibility of readjusting the summer tour in South Korea, where two matches against FC Seoul and Daegu FC are scheduled, will be considered, as long as the promoter meets certain conditions.
Barcelona regrets this incident and the impact it will have on the numerous community of culé fans in Japan.
Upon their return from Asia, Barça plans to face Italian side Como in a friendly at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on August 10, before beginning the defense of their LaLiga title in Mallorca on August 16.
