Barcelona Considers Changes in its Attack for Next Season
Barcelona is evaluating a restructuring of its offensive line for next summer, which could involve listening to offers for Ferran Torres and the incorporation of up to two new forwards, according to sources close to the club.
Ferran Torres, whose contract ends in 2027, could be transferred. The club prioritizes his sale this summer to obtain significant income, unlike Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has expressed his desire to renew Lewandowski. Meanwhile, the sports director, Deco, is working on the search for a new center forward.
Among the objectives is Julián Álvarez from Atlético de Madrid, and options are being explored to extend Marcus Rashford’s stay on the team.Ferran Torres could leave Camp Nou this summer.Barcelona has the option to make the loan of the English international, Marcus Rashford, permanent for around 30 million euros, but they are looking to reduce that amount or extend the loan for an additional season.
The club is aware of the complexity of renewing Lewandowski, signing Álvarez and keeping Rashford, so they are also considering alternatives to strengthen other positions.
Lewandowski, at 37 years old, has offers from several clubs and will decide his future at the end of the season. An option for the Polish striker is the MLS, where Chicago Fire has held talks with his representatives.
Regarding Álvarez, Atlético de Madrid will not facilitate his departure, and Arsenal from the Premier League is also interested in signing him.
United have made it clear that the only way Barça can keep Rashford is by paying the full 30 million euros agreed.
Barcelona is looking for solutions to finalize these signings, and a source indicates that they would be open to offers for Torres to obtain funds.
Torres, who joined the club in 2022, has been an important part of winning two LaLiga titles, a Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. Despite a good start to the season, his performance has declined at key moments.Ferran Torres started the season strong, but has only scored three goals in 2026.Torres has scored 16 goals in 40 matches this season, but only three in 2026, without scoring since January 31. Although Hansi Flick’s technical staff highlights his commitment, the club is considering his transfer to facilitate other operations.
The ideal scenario for Barça would be to have Álvarez as the starting striker and Lewandowski as a substitute, which would reduce Torres’ playing time. In addition, they would seek to keep Rashford or sign another versatile winger to complement Yamal and Raphinha.
