Ancelotti sees Estêvão in the 2026 World Cup

The Brazil coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that Chelsea’s young star, Estêvão, has a guaranteed place in the 2026 World Cup. Estêvão, 18 years old, has shone at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Palmeiras for £29 million ($38 million) in the summer. The winger has scored three goals in five Champions League appearances, including a brilliant individual goal in the victory against FC Barcelona.

Based on how Estêvão has played in the last six months, I think so. Estêvão will be in the World Cup.

Estêvão, who debuted with Brazil in September 2024, has earned a place in Ancelotti’s starting eleven and has scored four goals in his last three appearances with the national team. He has a total of five goals in 11 matches with the Brazil shirt. Ancelotti highlighted the player’s uniqueness.

He is a very, very special player. He is very different because he has great natural talent. It doesn’t mean that he is 100% developed due to his age. As for his talent, he can’t improve it, but what he can do is give it continuity.

Estêvão has played 11 matches in the Premier League with Enzo Maresca’s team, starting in five of them. Ancelotti is optimistic about the way Chelsea is helping Estêvão develop. “What can help is the physical aspect, tactical learning, and mental focus because he is very young. He is progressing very, very well at Chelsea. I haven’t spoken to Chelsea, but I’m sure they are doing a specific program with him in this regard. I think the national team has to take advantage of this talent because it is very great,” he concluded.
