EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Soccer player Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed that he felt the presence of his former Liverpool teammate, Diogo Jota, during the Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund Club World Cup quarter-final match. Jota, who unfortunately passed away in a car accident along with his brother André Silva, was remembered by Alexander-Arnold, who shared a locker room with him for five years at Liverpool.
Jota’s funeral, held on Saturday, was attended by several Liverpool and Portugal players, including Rúben Neves and João Cancelo. Alexander-Arnold, visibly affected, admitted the difficulty of playing the match, but highlighted the importance of fulfilling his duty on the field.I want to send my condolences, my thoughts, and my prayers to a close friend. I shared a locker room with him and it goes without saying that he will never be forgotten by anyone. He will live on in our memories.

I had to put it aside and focus on my work and my role. I did the best I could. I’m sure he would have wanted me to do it.
