Aitana Bonmatí, out due to injury for the Nations League final

Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmatí will miss the next match after suffering a leg fracture, according to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The injury occurred during a training session prior to the second leg of the UEFA Nations League final against Germany, which will be played in Madrid. The news arrives just two days before Spain’s match against Germany at the Metropolitano Stadium in Atletico Madrid, where La Roja will seek to retain the Nations League title. The first leg in Germany ended in a scoreless draw. The Spanish national team is already facing the loss of Patri Guijarro, also injured, which forces coach Sonia Bermúdez to look for solutions in midfield. Bonmatí’s absence will also be felt in Barcelona, especially considering Guijarro’s absence. The young Vicky López, Sydney Schertenleib, and Clara Serrajordi are the most likely candidates to take her place.
  • So far this season, Bonmatí has participated in 15 matches with his club, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
Barcelona has five more matches before the end of the year, including two in the Champions League, where they are in a good position. They lead the Liga F by six points after 12 matchdays and also top the Champions League standings on goal difference.
