WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

For the first time in its history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the “Showcase of the Immortals” as part of the “Riyadh Season” in 2027, as announced by WWE last Friday.

Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania had always been held in North American cities. Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, had hinted at the possibility of taking the company’s most important event internationally, and now that vision will materialize.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned in a now-deleted Snapchat live video, the arrival of WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. We deeply respect the legacy of WrestleMania and the global prestige it holds among wrestling fans worldwide.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, thanks to a billion-dollar deal with the Kingdom, which includes multiple shows over ten years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s four “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 42 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026, marking the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts WrestleMania.
