Brady Tkachuk, Senators Captain, Out with Injury
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be out of the game for at least a month due to an injury to his right hand. The information was confirmed by coach Travis Green this Tuesday. The injury occurred on Monday during the game against the Nashville Predators. Defenseman Roman Josi cross-checked Tkachuk, causing the player to hit the boards unfavorably. Despite the injury, the 26-year-old American winger remained in the game before leaving it in the second half of the third period.Green also mentioned that surgery is a possibility for Tkachuk, but that, at a minimum, he will be out for four weeks. In the current season, Tkachuk has recorded three assists in three games with Ottawa, the team that drafted him in 2018. In addition to Brady, his brother Matthew, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers, is also injured. Matthew is expected to be out until December. Both Tkachuk brothers were selected among the first six players by the United States for the initial team of the 2026 Olympic Games in June. He’s going to lose a significant amount of time. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours. We don’t know exactly, but it’s four weeks or more. We don’t know exactly.
