Chargers Concern: Denzel Perryman Injured

Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh has revealed that linebacker Denzel Perryman is dealing with an ankle injury, raising uncertainty about his recovery time.

I don’t know the duration of his absence.

Perryman had to leave the field in the first quarter of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the Chargers obtained a 27-21 victory. He only participated in eight plays before being replaced by Troy Dye. Harbaugh praised Dye’s performance, highlighting his leadership on special teams and his performance at the linebacker position after Perryman’s departure. Dye, who is in his sixth season, has been a key player on the team, although not always as a starter. In the recent match, he played 40 defensive plays, accumulating four tackles and two significant hits on the Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. Perryman, who returned to the Chargers before the 2024 season, had already played and started in 11 games last season, missing some games due to injuries. This situation could open up opportunities for Dye and other players like Marlowe Wax and Del’Shawn Phillips.
