Las Vegas Aces Celebrate Their Third Championship in Style

Las Vegas dressed up to celebrate the Aces’ third championship in the last four years. Just eight years after the WNBA and the NBA Board of Governors confirmed the relocation of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas, the team celebrated with a spectacular parade on the famous Strip.

We’re back!

Mark Davis, owner of the Aces
Led by a caravan of lowrider classic cars showcasing their hydraulic systems, five double-decker buses traveled down Tropicana Boulevard to Las Vegas Boulevard. The last bus carried the Aces, who threw streamers and confetti at thousands of fans who gathered from four hours before the start of the parade. The crowd lined the iconic thoroughfare, known for hosting some of the world’s biggest figures. The Aces, after a season start with ups and downs (14-14), overcame two very close playoff series before sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA Finals. The Toshiba Plaza filled up to celebrate the fourth professional championship since 2022, with three titles for the Aces and the NHL’s Stanley Cup for the Golden Knights in 2023.

We should do it again next year.

Becky Hammon, Aces coach
Hammon, who completed her fourth season with the Aces, highlighted that this year’s team was the easiest to manage. “They came and worked hard, regardless of the circumstances,” she stated. “This is one of the groups with the most character and resilience.” After losing several key players from their previous championship rosters, the Aces welcomed many new faces and needed almost three months to consolidate. Finally, they strung together 16 consecutive wins to end the regular season and earn the second seed in the playoffs.

This is a special group, we pray together and celebrate with champagne.

A’ja Wilson, four-time MVP
A’ja Wilson, visibly emotional, spoke about Hammon’s dedication to each player. “She believed in us when no one else did. We wouldn’t be here without Becky Hammon.” NaLyssa Smith, who joined the team mid-season, looked at her teammates and said: “You changed my life.” Jackie Young, present in all three championships, maintained her concise style. “Just know that this isn’t over,” she declared before dropping the microphone. The celebration culminated with confetti and fireworks, while Queen’s “We Are The Champions” played. The live musical performances were by Crime Mob, Ludacris, and Mya.

Now this is a parade.
