Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to the Nets

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for cash considerations, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Bufkin, selected by the Hawks with the 15th pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has a salary of $5.4 million this season and a team option of $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.

This transaction gives the Hawks greater flexibility in their roster, as well as generating a trade exception of $4.5 million. For Bufkin, 21, it represents a new opportunity in Brooklyn.

The Nets, for their part, have $11.6 million in salary space after this move, with 15 players under guaranteed contracts.

In the last two seasons, Bufkin played in 27 games with the Hawks. During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games in the G League.
