Women's Rugby World Cup: Ticket Demand EXPLODES After English Success
A large influx of fans is expected for the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The demand for tickets to the Women’s Rugby World Cup has seen a significant increase, driven by the success of the England women’s team in the European Championship. According to viagogo data, ticket sales sites recorded a 121% increase in searches for the Women’s Rugby World Cup in the week following England’s victory over Spain in the final of Euro 2025 in Switzerland. The opening match for England against the United States, scheduled for Friday, and the final at Allianz Stadium Twickenham on September 27, are the events that have generated the most interest. The organizers anticipate that next month’s final at Twickenham will break the attendance record for a women’s rugby match. The tickets for the final are already sold out, with approximately 82,000 fans expected to attend Twickenham. The current record for a women’s XV match is 58,498 spectators, set when England secured the 2023 Six Nations Grand Slam by defeating France 38-33 at Twickenham. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, a crowd of 66,000 people witnessed the opening day of the women’s rugby sevens program at the Stade de France. The PA news agency reported that the governing body World Rugby believes it may have oversold the World Cup final, which will be immediately preceded by the bronze medal match, two or three times.
