Warren Abrahams, former Wales coach, dies at 43: Rugby in mourning

The rugby world is in mourning following the passing of Warren Abrahams, former head coach of the Wales women’s national team, at the age of 43. Abrahams, who led Wales from November 2020 to July 2021, lost his life in Kenya, where he was training the Belgian women’s sevens team.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) expressed its condolences through its social media. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Warren Abrahams from everyone at Welsh rugby. The Harlequins club, a Premiership Rugby team, also mourned the loss of Abrahams, who was a coach at the club’s academy.

At Harlequins we are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of former Academy coach Warren Abrahams. Warren had a lasting impact on the club during his time at the academy from 2011 to 2019. His passion, leadership and commitment to player development were felt not only at Harlequins, but across the rugby world during his distinguished career.
