Louis Rees-Zammit returns to the Wales national team this autumn, marking his return to rugby after a period in the NFL.
After two years, the talented player is back in the Welsh jersey. Rees-Zammit left rugby to pursue his dream in the NFL, where he was part of the practice squads of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In August, the 24-year-old athlete decided to return to rugby, signing a one-year contract with the Bristol Bears.
During his absence, Wales went through a streak of 18 consecutive losses, from the 2023 Rugby World Cup to a test match in Japan in July. This period also saw the departure of Warren Gatland as head coach, being replaced by Steve Tandy.
Tandy expressed his satisfaction with the selection, highlighting the combination of youth and experience in the team. It’s been very exciting to go through the whole process and realize how many good players we have.
