Max Ojomoh revealed that the abundance of talent in England’s midfield was the source of inspiration for his outstanding performance at the Allianz Stadium against Argentina on Sunday. Ojomoh, who entered the team as a last-minute replacement in the inside center due to an injury to Fraser Dingwall, responded with a Player of the Match performance. He scored a try and assisted on two more. This poses a challenge for Steve Borthwick when selecting the team for the start of the Six Nations against Wales on February 7. Ojomoh, Dingwall, and Seb Atkinson are competing for a starting position in a position that has been problematic for England.

“A year ago, people were going crazy about a crisis in the center,” Ojomoh said after winning his second match with Steve Borthwick’s team, which completed an autumn sweep.

“Now I see Seb, Fraser, Ollie Lawrence, Luke Northmore and many number 12s emerging, and that kind of competition drives everyone to perform at a higher level. It’s a very competitive position, so there are many contenders for a position on the field. If you’re in form, you keep going”.

After opening the scoring with a try in the 10th minute, he assisted tries for Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Henry Slade in each half. Feyi-Waboso ran after catching Ojomoh’s precise pass, while Slade benefited from his teammate’s run and pass to score a crucial try.

“My favorite part was the cross pass because I’ve never done it in the Premier League,” Ojomoh said.

“I’ve tried it when I’ve had penalty advantage and they’ve all failed, so it was a great moment for it to work. And to kick it to a very good friend, Manny [Feyi-Waboso] – I’m glad he scored the try”.

“I was very surprised by the pass. I saw Sladey and thought ‘nothing to lose, I might as well give it a go’”. Max Ojomoh England achieved their eleventh consecutive victory by defeating the Pumas and enters the Six Nations as a true title contender.

“I’m very happy for the team, who have won four out of four this month. It’s a great way to finish,” said Ojomoh.
