Max Ojomoh revealed that the abundance of talent in England’s midfield was the source of inspiration for his outstanding performance at the Allianz Stadium against Argentina.
Ojomoh, who came in as a last-minute replacement in the inside center after Fraser Dingwall’s injury due to a strain, responded with a stellar performance that earned him the Player of the Match award, scoring a try and assisting on two more.
This situation presents a challenge for Steve Borthwick when selecting the team for the start of the Six Nations against Wales on February 7th, with Ojomoh, Dingwall, and Seb Atkinson competing for a starting position in a position that has been problematic for England.
“Now I see Seb, Fraser, Ollie Lawrence, Luke Northmore and many centers emerging, and that kind of competition drives everyone to perform at a higher level,” added Ojomoh.“A year ago, people were worried about a crisis in the center,” Ojomoh commented after his second match with the national team, in a month where Steve Borthwick’s team achieved a clean sweep of victories.

After opening the scoring with a try in the 10th minute, Ojomoh assisted Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Henry Slade in two tries. Feyi-Waboso scored a try after receiving a precise pass from Ojomoh, while Slade took advantage of a run and pass from his teammate to score a crucial try.“It’s a very competitive position, so there are a lot of contenders for a position on the field. If you’re in shape, you move forward”.

“I’ve tried it when I’ve had penalty advantage and missed them all, so it was a great time for it to work. And to throw it to a very good friend, Manny [Feyi-Waboso], I’m glad he got the try.” “I was really surprised by the pass. I saw Sladey and thought ‘nothing to lose, well worth a go’.” England achieved its eleventh consecutive victory by defeating the Pumas and is emerging as a strong contender for the Six Nations title.“My favorite part was the cross-pass because I had never done it in the Prem,” said Ojomoh.

“It’s been a very good campaign from a very well-knit team. It’s good to be a part of it.”“I’m very happy for the team, who have won four out of four this month. It’s a great way to finish,” said Ojomoh.
