Rosie Galligan describes the “magical” support received by England at the Women’s Rugby World Cup
England player Rosie Galligan has expressed her amazement at the “magical” support the team has received in the early stages of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The “Red Roses” have achieved resounding victories against the United States and Samoa, in front of large crowds in Sunderland and Northampton, respectively, marking a promising start to their campaign. The third and final group stage match against Australia in Brighton is also close to selling out, and Galligan has confessed that he has never before experienced such fervent support.
Furthermore, Galligan highlighted the difference of playing at home compared to the tournament in New Zealand three years ago, emphasizing the positive impact this has. Galligan also mentioned the challenge of getting extra tickets for his family, as England prepares to face the Wallaroos.“This has been magical. Sunderland, for me, the way we were walking down the street and having fans flooding, walking towards the stadium, the fireworks getting off the bus, it really felt like something I’d never experienced before,” Galligan commented.

Galligan expressed his pride in overcoming these challenges and being part of the English team. Furthermore, she highlighted how these experiences strengthened her mentally and physically, transforming her into a different person. Galligan concluded by highlighting the importance of remembering both the positive moments and the difficulties overcome.“We all have our ups and downs, and life is like a rollercoaster, both on and off the field,” Galligan said.
