England vows to showcase their relentless game against Australia this Saturday, seeking to close their group stage with a resounding statement. The “Red Roses” have comfortably overcome the United States and Samoa, but anticipate an increase in intensity, especially with Australia still fighting to secure their place in the next phase, following their 31-31 draw against the United States last week. If the United States gets a bonus point against Samoa on Saturday, Australia will face the possibility of needing a bonus point of their own against England later that night. With the “Wallaroos” needing to score many points, fly-half Zoe Harrison highlighted that it’s an opportunity for the “Red Roses” to demonstrate their tenacity in what is expected to be a fierce battle.

“I think the most important thing in this match will be our defense, to show ‘We know what you have to do, but we won’t let you do it’”, Harrison stated.

“Because that will also leave a mark on the following matches. We are here to get to the top, they are here to stay in the game. It will be an exciting match, and they have something to play for, we have something to fight for. It’s a rugby match, it will simply go straight ahead. We are here to win against Australia and play our best rugby, because ultimately, that’s what we came to do. “We want to reach the [playoff] games after being in the best possible position.” Australia’s back line has already shown its ability to score points in this tournament, with winger Desiree Miller scoring five tries and fullback Caitlyn Halse adding four in their first two matches. Halse, eighteen years old, commented that she and her teammates are ready to rise to the occasion in what is expected to be a nearly full stadium in Brighton. “I’ve definitely grown up wanting to play on the international stage,” Halse said. “I’ve never played in front of that kind of crowd, so I’ll try to feed off the energy of the crowd and prepare myself for that match.”
