Galligan highlighted the impact of playing at home, pointing out the significant difference compared to the tournament in New Zealand three years ago.

This has been magical. I think Sunderland for me, the way we were going down the street and had the fans in masses, walking towards the stadium, the fireworks when you got off the bus, it really felt like something I had never experienced before.

The player also mentioned the challenge of getting additional tickets for her family for the match against Australia. Galligan’s personal journey has been a source of inspiration.

In 2019, she contracted meningitis, which led to her hospitalization and nearly resulted in the loss of her legs. After returning to rugby in 2020, she suffered an ankle fracture that kept her out of the game for a year. She returned to be part of the team for the 2022 World Cup.

We all have our ups and downs, and life is like a roller coaster, both on and off the field.
