England Imposes TikTok Dances as Disciplinary Punishment

The English rugby team, arriving with a streak of 10 consecutive victories to Sunday’s match against Argentina, has implemented a peculiar system of sanctions to maintain discipline among its players. Winger Elliot Daly, who is returning to the team after an injury, revealed that the punishment for breaking the rules includes being forced to perform TikTok-style dances. Players who accumulate fines must record a video of themselves dancing, emulating popular social media clips, although they are not required to publish them. After the 33-19 victory over New Zealand, Tommy Freeman, Fin Smith, Henry Pollock, and Freddie Steward posted a TikTok video showing a choreography. The video, titled “post game feels” and set to Irish dance music, has accumulated around seven million views.

There are some fines that result in TikTok dances. If you do something wrong, you make a TikTok video. Although it doesn’t have to be posted on TikTok.

Coach Steve Borthwick commented: “There has been a lot of laughter, a lot of very bad dancing, I think that’s one of the best”. Borthwick added: “I was asked to make a special appearance at someone else’s TikTok dance, so I had a very limited role to play in it. The team saw it and that was that!”.
