COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Philadelphia Flyers have activated goaltender Dan Vladar from injured reserve, allowing him to return for Wednesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Vladar missed the last two weeks after leaving a game in Buffalo due to what the team described as a lower-body injury. The Flyers have lost four of six games since then.
After mostly being a backup since arriving in the NHL, Vladar, 28, was in the midst of possibly the best season of his career when he was injured. He has a record of 16-7-4 with a goals-against average of 2.46, which ranks ninth in the league, and a save percentage of .905, which ranks 18th among goalies with at least 20 appearances.
He was one of the three goalkeepers chosen to play for the Czech Republic in the upcoming Milan Olympics.
