Brady Tkachuk, Senators captain, out with injury
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be out of the lineup for at least a month due to a right hand injury, according to coach Travis Green on Tuesday. Tkachuk suffered the injury on Monday during the game against the Nashville Predators. Defenseman Roman Josi delivered a cross-check that caused Tkachuk to hit the boards unfavorably. Despite the injury, the 26-year-old player remained in the game before leaving it in the second half of the third period.Coach Green mentioned to the media that surgery is a possibility for Tkachuk, but that, at a minimum, he will miss four weeks of play. So far this season, Tkachuk has recorded three assists in three games for Ottawa, the team that drafted him in 2018. Brady’s brother, Matthew Tkachuk, is also injured. Matthew, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers, is expected to be out of action until December. Both Tkachuk brothers were among the first six players named by the United States for the initial roster of the 2026 Olympics in June. He’s going to miss a significant amount of time. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours. We don’t know exactly, but it’s four weeks or more. We don’t know exactly.
