Vladimir Tarasenko joins his fifth team since 2023

Veteran winger and two-time Stanley Cup champion Vladimir Tarasenko has been traded by the Detroit Red Wings to the Minnesota Wild, marking his fifth team since 2023. The move was made on Monday in exchange for future considerations. Tarasenko, who signed as a free agent last summer, agreed to a two-year contract with the Red Wings for $4.75 million annually. In his only season in Detroit, he recorded 11 goals and 33 points in 80 games, with a time on ice of 14:46, the least in both categories in a season with more than 64 games played.

El veterano extremo y dos veces campeón de la Copa Stanley, Vladimir Tarasenko, llega a su quinto equipo desde 2023, tras ser traspasado por los Detroit Red Wings a los Minnesota Wild el lunes.
The arrival in Minnesota brings the hope that Tarasenko can get closer to the level he showed in the 2023-24 season, when he scored 23 goals and 55 points playing for the Ottawa Senators and the Florida Panthers. With the Panthers, Tarasenko contributed to the conquest of the first of his two Stanley Cups. The Wild needed more goals, as they finished with the fewest goals of any team that made the playoffs before losing in the first round to the Vegas Golden Knights. PuckPedia estimates that the Wild will have $12.961 million in salary cap space when the free agency period officially opens on Tuesday, with the possibility of adding another forward. For the Red Wings, Tarasenko’s departure provides them with $23.161 million in available cap space in an offseason where they have already negotiated for goaltender John Gibson, looking to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
