Milan Lucic seeks to return to the NHL with the St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues have invited veteran forward Milan Lucic, 37, to a tryout. The player, whose last NHL appearance was in 2023, is looking for a new opportunity in professional hockey. Lucic was part of the Boston Bruins team that won the Stanley Cup in 2011. During his career, he has also played for the Kings, Oilers, and Flames, before returning to the Bruins in 2023. In that year, Lucic recorded two assists in four games before suffering an ankle injury that led him to the long-term injury reserve list. Later, he was involved in an incident at his home, where he was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery against a family member. However, the charges were dropped because his wife did not want to testify. Lucic entered the league’s Player Assistance Program and, according to the Blues, has completed the program and has been reinstated by the NHL. Over his 17 seasons in the NHL, Lucic has accumulated 233 goals, 353 assists, and 1,301 penalty minutes. His most outstanding season was in 2010-11, where he achieved 32 goals and 30 assists.
