NHL Game Summary
The excitement of the NHL playoffs is still at its peak, with close series and outstanding individual performances. Here’s a summary of what has happened so far.
Eastern Conferences
The Toronto Maple Leafs, who started with a 2-0 lead over the current champions, the Florida Panthers, suffered a setback when the Panthers secured a victory thanks to Brad Marchand’s overtime goal. The series now stands at 2-1, and both teams will face off in Game 4 on Sunday.
In the other Eastern Conference semifinal, the top-seeded Washington Capitals fell to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1, although the Capitals responded in Game 2. Game 3 will be played on Saturday.
Western Conferences
The Edmonton Oilers rallied to win their fifth straight game, taking Game 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights. The magic continued in Game 2, with Leon Draisaitl scoring the game-winning goal in overtime. Connor McDavid is currently the favorite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy for the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs.
The Dallas Stars took the lead over the Winnipeg Jets, but the Jets responded with a shutout in Game 2 to tie the series. Mikko Rantanen had an outstanding performance.
