In a night full of emotions, Alex Ovechkin, the star of the Washington Capitals, continued to demonstrate his greatness in the NHL. In Thursday’s match against the Montreal Canadiens, the Capitals prevailed with a score of 8-4, and Ovechkin was the key figure. Ovechkin not only scored his thirty-third hat trick in his career, tying Brett Hull for fourth in NHL history, but also added an assist, allowing him to move up to tenth place on the league’s all-time scoring list, surpassing Joe Sakic. With 10 goals in 21 games this season, Ovechkin extended his NHL goal record to 907. In addition, the 40-year-old Russian player has a total of 1,643 points, two more than Sakic. The first goal by Ovechkin came in the first minute of the first period, taking advantage of a power play. He assisted in the second period for Ethen Frank’s goal, which gave the Capitals the definitive lead. In the third period, he scored two more goals, demonstrating his ability to define matches. Ovechkin has scored in four consecutive games, with seven goals in his last six games. After all he has done, we are still surprised by what he can do, and I’m sure he’s not about to slow down.I’m just trying to do my job, enjoy the moment and the time.
