Suspensions for John Beecher and Logan Stanley for Incidents in the NHL

The NHL’s Player Safety Department has announced suspensions for John Beecher, forward for the Calgary Flames, and Logan Stanley, defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets, following incidents that occurred last Sunday.

Both players have been suspended for one match each due to actions considered as rough play.

John Beecher, during Saturday’s game, hit Michael McCarron, a forward for the Nashville Predators, while he was being held by a linesman. The incident occurred in the first period of the match, which ended in a 4-3 defeat for Calgary.

The hit occurred right after McCarron and Beecher exchanged blows near the Flames’ bench.

Beecher, 24, received a penalty for rough play and a 10-minute penalty at the time. Later, he had to leave the game due to an injury, after fighting with Nashville’s Nicolas Hague in the second period.

On the other hand, Logan Stanley was penalized for hitting Brady Tkachuk in the face during the second period of the game that the Jets lost 4-2 against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. Stanley, 27, received a roughing penalty and a penalty for illegal equipment.

Tkachuk, visibly upset after the hit, received a 10-minute penalty.

It should be noted that neither Beecher nor Stanley had been suspended or fined previously in their NHL careers. Beecher has played 155 games, while Stanley has participated in 242.
