Frank Nazar Could Return to the Ice with the Blackhawks This Week

Chicago Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar participated in the team’s practice this Sunday and could be back in action as soon as Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Nazar, who turned 22 last Wednesday, suffered a blow to the face from a puck during the 6-4 loss to Ottawa on December 20.

It feels great to be back with the guys and skate, and I had a lot of fun today.

The Blackhawks have lost three straight games before Monday night’s home game against Winnipeg. They will visit the Hurricanes on Thursday before hosting Tampa Bay on Friday night.

As far as I know, he won’t play tomorrow. Unless something changes drastically, I don’t think he will. That would allow him at least another full practice and then see where we go from there.

Jeff Blashill, coach
Blashill also reported that Teuvo Teravainen will not play against the Jets due to an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old forward was injured in the first period of last week’s 4-1 loss to Edmonton. Nazar, a first-round selection in the 2022 draft, has six goals and 15 assists in 33 games this season. In August, he agreed to a seven-year, $46.2 million contract extension with the Blackhawks.

I’m really looking forward to coming back and giving what I can to help the team win.
