Utah Mammoth Secures Jack McBain with Multi-Year Extension

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Mammoth have secured the continuity of center Jack McBain with a five-year contract, valued at $21.25 million. The agreement was announced on Monday, less than 24 hours after the team opted for salary arbitration with the forward, who is a restricted free agent. McBain’s contract will have a $4.25 million impact on the salary cap through the 2029-30 NHL season.

“He’s a big, strong, and physical player who competes with intensity every night and brings valuable toughness to our team,” said General Manager Bill Armstrong.

Armstrong added that McBain is a key piece on the team they are building, a team with championship aspirations, and they hope to have him in the future. McBain, 25, is coming off a career-high 27 points and playing in all 82 games of the season. He was one of six players to appear in every game of the organization’s inaugural season in Salt Lake City.

“Jack’s versatility as a player, his concern for his teammates, and his demonstrated willingness to do what it takes to win are critical elements for the future success of our team,” said President of Hockey Operations Chris Armstrong.
