Changes to Toronto Sports Schedules Due to the World Series

Toronto is gearing up for a weekend and a week full of sporting action. The Maple Leafs and the Raptors have modified their game schedules to avoid any overlap with the Blue Jays’ World Series games.

“Sports fans in Toronto are undoubtedly some of the most passionate in the world, and we are proud that the city’s teams are coming together to give these fans the opportunity to experience a significant moment in the history of our city and our nation,” said Keith Pelley, President and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, owner of the Maple Leafs and Raptors.

The Rogers Centre, located in downtown Toronto, will host games 1 and 2 of the World Series this Friday and Saturday. Both games in the best-of-seven series are scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. The Raptors’ home opener against Milwaukee, to be played on Friday, was moved up from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Maple Leafs’ game against Buffalo, scheduled for Saturday, was moved up from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Leafs also adjusted the start time of next Tuesday’s game against Calgary, which will begin at 6 p.m. On October 29, the Raptors will host Houston at 6:30 p.m. Games 3-5 of the World Series are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The Maple Leafs and Raptors will also broadcast the World Series games on the big screen at Scotiabank Arena after their games.
