Adam Lowry, Jets Captain, Will Miss a Large Part of Next Season Due to Surgery

Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry will be out of action for five to six months due to hip surgery, the team announced on Wednesday.

This absence could mean Lowry will miss at least the first month of the 2025-26 regular season. The Jets did not specify the cause of the surgery, which was performed on Tuesday, ten days after the team, winner of the Presidents’ Trophy in the regular season, was eliminated by Dallas in the sixth game of the second round of the playoffs.

Lowry, originally from St. Louis, scored four goals in 13 postseason games with the Jets, including one in the second overtime in the 4-3 Game 7 first-round victory against the Blues. At 32 years old, Lowry has played his entire 11-year NHL career with Winnipeg and is about to enter the final season of his five-year contract.
