Yanni Gourde Signs Extension with Tampa Bay Lightning

Forward Yanni Gourde has signed a six-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning, worth $14 million. The announcement was made on Monday.

Gourde, 33, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. The player participated in the last 21 games of the season with Tampa Bay, after the team reacquired him from the Seattle Kraken in a three-way trade on March 5. The Lightning lost Gourde when the Kraken selected him in the 2021 expansion draft. In the 2024-25 season, Gourde totaled 31 points (7 goals, 24 assists) between the Kraken and the Lightning in 57 games. In addition, he provided an assist in five playoff games for the Lightning. Gourde missed two months of the regular season due to surgery to repair a sports hernia in January. In his career, Gourde has 347 points (133 goals, 214 assists) in 602 games, with 52 of those games played for the Lightning. He spent his first six seasons in the NHL with Tampa Bay, where he won two consecutive Stanley Cup titles in 2020 and 2021.
