Forward Alex Laferriere has reached an agreement to extend his stay with the Los Angeles Kings, signing a three-year contract for $12.3 million.The official announcement was made by the Kings on Saturday, ensuring the continuity of Laferriere, who was in restricted free agent status this summer after his entry-level contract ended.Laferriere, 23 years old, proved his worth during the past season by scoring 19 goals and providing 23 assists for the Kings. He established himself as a reliable scorer in his second season in the NHL.For the most part, he played on the right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield and standout scorer Kevin Fiala, both important pillars in the young core of Los Angeles.Selected in the third round of the 2020 draft, Laferriere has a total of 31 goals and 34 assists in 158 games played with the Kings.The new general manager of Los Angeles, Ken Holland, has resolved his most urgent contractual matters of the summer with the signing of Laferriere. Holland expressed last month his desire to secure a long-term contract with Adrian Kempe, who is in the last season of his contract.
