Alex Laferriere Secures His Future with the Kings

Forward Alex Laferriere has agreed to a three-year, $12.3 million deal to continue his career with the Los Angeles Kings. The announcement was made by the Kings on Saturday, securing the permanence of Laferriere, who was a restricted free agent this summer after his entry-level contract ended. Laferriere, 23, scored 19 goals and 23 assists last season with the Kings, establishing himself as a reliable scorer in his second NHL season. Primarily, he played on the right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield and Kevin Fiala, both key pieces in the young core of Los Angeles. Selected in the third round of the 2020 draft, Laferriere has 31 goals and 34 assists in 158 games with the Kings. The new general manager of Los Angeles, Ken Holland, has resolved the most urgent contractual matters of the summer with the signing of Laferriere. Holland expressed last month his desire to secure a long-term contract for Adrian Kempe, the Swedish forward who is in the final season of his contract.
