Gabriel Vilardi secures his future with the Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have secured the continuity of forward Gabriel Vilardi, signing a six-year contract extension for $45 million. Vilardi, who became a restricted free agent on July 1st, after finishing a two-year, $6.88 million contract, has proven to be a key piece for the team. During the 2024-25 season, Vilardi set personal records with 27 goals, 34 assists, 61 points, and 71 games played. The 25-year-old player, originally from Kingston, Ontario, also contributed a goal and three assists in nine playoff games, despite missing the last 11 regular season games and the first four of the postseason due to an upper body injury. The Jets acquired Vilardi in June 2023 in a trade that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings. In his professional career, Vilardi has accumulated 90 goals and 85 assists in 270 regular season games, spread over six seasons with Los Angeles and Winnipeg.
