Gabriel Vilardi Secures His Future with the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets have secured the continuity of forward Gabriel Vilardi, signing a six-year contract extension for $45 million. The announcement was made on Friday, marking a significant milestone for the team.
Vilardi, who became a restricted free agent on July 1st, had completed a two-year, $6.88 million contract. During the 2024-25 season, the player achieved his personal bests, recording 27 goals, 34 assists, and a total of 61 points in 71 games.
The 25-year-old player, originally from Kingston, Ontario, also contributed a goal and three assists in nine playoff games. It is important to note that Vilardi missed the last 11 games of the regular season and the first four of the postseason due to an upper-body injury.
The Jets acquired Vilardi in June 2023, in a trade that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings. Throughout his career, which spans six seasons with Los Angeles and Winnipeg, Vilardi has accumulated 90 goals and 85 assists in 270 regular season games.
