Jets Secure Defense: Haydn Fleury Signs 2-Year, $1.9M Extension

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Haydn Fleury has agreed to a two-year, $1.9 million contract extension, it was announced Saturday.

Fleury, 28 years old, added seven assists and averaged 15:56 minutes of playing time in the 39 games last season.

In his career, Fleury has 44 points, the product of 10 goals and 34 assists, in 307 games played. He has worn the jerseys of the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Jets.

The player, originally from Saskatchewan, was selected by the Hurricanes in the seventh overall position of the NHL draft in 2014.
