The New York Islanders have secured the signing of forward Cole Eiserman to a three-year entry-level contract, thus solidifying one of their most promising prospects for the near future.
The Eiserman agreement will come into effect starting next season, extending until the 2028-29 campaign. It is anticipated that the player will join the Bridgeport of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of this season under a tryout agreement. Subsequently, he will seek to earn a spot on the main team during training camp in September.
Eiserman, selected in the 20th position of the 2024 draft, holds the record for most goals scored in the history of the United States National Team Development Program, with an impressive total of 127 goals in 119 games. His 193 points in the program position him as the second-best, only surpassed by Jack Hughes, who scored the Olympic gold goal and was the first overall pick in 2019.
Eiserman, who will turn 20 on August 29, has just finished his second season of college hockey at Boston University. During his time in the NCAA, he accumulated 64 points in 71 games.
The player, a native of Newburyport, Massachusetts, has been key in obtaining gold medals for the United States in the under-20 (junior), under-18, and under-17 world championships.
In addition to the incorporation of Eiserman, the Islanders also announced the signing of defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson, a 2025 first-round pick, to an entry-level contract. Aitcheson, turning 20 on September 21, will be eligible to play in the AHL next season.
