Ryan Bowness Joins Islanders Management
The New York Islanders announced this Monday the addition of Ryan Bowness as assistant general manager and director of player personnel.
Bowness joins the team after spending three seasons with the Ottawa Senators, where he served as associate general manager in the 2024-25 season. Previously, he was assistant general manager during his first two years in Ottawa.
His arrival is part of a restructuring in the management of the Islanders, who last month named Mathieu Darche as general manager.
The Islanders failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2024-25 season, after recording a 35-35-12 record, totaling 82 points. Despite this, the New York team obtained the first overall pick for the upcoming 2025 NHL draft, despite only having a 3.5% chance of winning the lottery.
It is worth noting that Ryan Bowness is the son of former Islanders head coach Rick Bowness, who coached the team between 1996 and 1998.
