Jackson Blake Secures His Future with the Hurricanes with an Extensive Contract

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake has signed an eight-year, $45 million contract extension, as announced on Thursday. This agreement will take effect starting in the 2026-27 season, solidifying Blake’s long-term presence on the team. Blake, 21, and son of former NHL player Jason Blake, had a standout rookie season. In the regular season, he contributed 17 goals and 17 assists in 80 games. In the postseason, he added three goals and three assists in 15 games.

Jackson had an outstanding rookie season, and we believe he’s just beginning to show the potential he has as a player. His tenacity with the puck and his competitiveness fit with our team culture, and we are excited about his future with us.

The 5-foot-11-inch right winger was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. Previously, he played two seasons at the University of North Dakota.
