Adam Fox to Long-Term Injured Reserve

New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox has been placed on long-term injured reserve with an upper-body injury, according to sources close to the team.

Fox’s injury, considered “week-to-week”, will force the player to be out of the courts for at least 10 games and 24 days.

Fox suffered the injury during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, in which the Rangers fell 4-1. The player was checked against the boards by Brandon Hagel and left the game early, apparently with discomfort in his left arm.

Despite the news, sources indicate that the injury is not long-lasting and should not affect Fox’s participation in the Olympic Games in February.

In the current season, Fox has scored three goals and 23 assists in 27 games, tying with Artemi Panarin at the top of the team’s points table, with a total of 26.

This absence represents a challenge for the Rangers, who are currently outside the playoff zone.

Teams must submit their Olympic rosters by December 31. Fox, a native of Long Island, was part of the United States team in the Four Nations last February.
