Ryker Evans Secures His Future with the Seattle Kraken

Seattle Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans has agreed to a two-year contract extension, securing his place on the team through the 2026-27 season. The deal carries an average annual value of $2.05 million. Evans, 23, had a standout first full season with the Kraken, accumulating 25 points thanks to five goals and 20 assists in 73 games. Selected in the second round of the 2021 draft, Evans made his NHL debut on December 7, 2023.

“Ryker took a positive step in his first full season in the NHL,” stated General Manager Jason Botterill.

Botterill also added: “Since he turned professional, he has shown constant improvement year after year, and we are confident that he will take his game to another level next season. We are happy to have him under contract.” With a height of 6 feet and a weight of 195 pounds, the defenseman has accumulated 34 points in 109 games in the NHL. In addition, he represented Team Canada at this year’s world hockey championship, where he recorded two assists in eight games.
