Anaheim Ducks bolster their forward line with the acquisition of Jeffrey Viel, coming from the Bruins, in a strategic move announced this Friday. In return, the Bruins will receive a fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft.

Viel, known for his physical play, has yet to score points this season with Boston, accumulating 30 penalty minutes in 10 games. His last goal in the NHL was during the 2021-22 season, playing for the San Jose Sharks.
The forward has spent most of his professional career in the AHL, with a total of five points and 183 penalty minutes in 64 NHL games, split between the Bruins and the Sharks. In the 2023-24 season, Viel scored 40 points playing for the Winnipeg Jets’ affiliate team in the AHL.
The Ducks already have Ross Johnston on their roster, another player known for his physical play, who currently leads the team with 82 penalty minutes and has achieved a personal best of 12 points in 44 games.
