Dylan Strome Celebrates Daughter’s Birth with Standout Performance
Washington Capitals center Dylan Strome experienced a night of mixed emotions on Thursday, learning during the first intermission of the game against the Montreal Canadiens about the birth of his third daughter. Strome, visibly emotional, shared his feelings after the match, where he contributed with three assists in his team’s 8-4 victory. The little one, Sutton Kimberley, arrived in the world two hours before the start of the game. Strome highlighted the sacrifice of his wife, Tayler, who remained strong while he was away. The player expressed his pride in his wife and the difficulty of not being able to be present at the birth. He also mentioned the support that Tayler provides to his other two daughters while he is traveling.“There were so many emotions going through my mind. First, you want to make sure everyone is okay, it’s pretty scary. At the time of the first period, I thought I might get home on time, maybe. Obviously, that didn’t happen.”

In the game, Strome had a significant impact, winning an initial face-off that led to Alex Ovechkin’s first goal and assisting the captain in a 2-on-1 to make the score 6-4. Ovechkin, who scored an empty-net goal to complete a hat-trick, commented on Strome’s inspired performance.“I am very proud of her. It’s difficult, and obviously you want to be there for the birth of your children and you didn’t know it would come so soon, but I can’t wait to go see her… It’s something I don’t think I’ll experience again, hopefully no one does, feeling helpless.”

“From the first shift, I think Stromer was feeling it. I think he was unstoppable today.”
