The Washington Capitals have unveiled their new third jersey, a design that pays homage to various eras of the franchise.
The Capitals will wear these jerseys in 15 home games during the current season. The debut is scheduled for October 17 against the Minnesota Wild, and they are expected to be used for at least the next three seasons.
The red, the team’s emblematic color for decades, is the base of the jersey. The design incorporates details from different historical periods.
The white canesu on the shoulders evokes the 1970s and 1980s.
The shoulder patch features the Capitol Dome logo from the 1990s.
The main crest is the “Screaming Eagle” logo of the Capitals, used between 1995 and 2007, including Alex Ovechkin’s early years in the NHL.
It reminds me of my first year. Good times. They look great. I hope the fans love it.
