TAMPA, Fla. – The home of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning has been renamed Benchmark International Arena, following the multi-year agreement announced Wednesday with the mergers and acquisitions firm. The change takes effect immediately. The building, inaugurated in 1996, has been known as Amalie Arena since 2014, and was the venue where the Lightning lifted the Stanley Cup in 2021, achieving their second consecutive championship. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Benchmark International and Vinik Sports Group, owners of the Lightning, indicated that their partnership includes more than $3 million in non-profit contributions to benefit the community.

Benchmark is a respected brand with global reach and strong ties to the Tampa Bay community.

Griggs also added that Amalie Motor Oil will continue to be a corporate partner of the organization.
